Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Shaker paid a visit to the United States to attend three critical events concerning Nuclear Energy between the 28th of March and the 10th of April 2016. One of the events on the agenda was a series of meetings with civil society and various significant nuclear establishments during the Washington Nuclear Security Summit. This was an exceptional opportunity to maintain communication with international communities and engage in discussions concerning nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation.
The second item on the agenda was a report Ambassador Shaker was invited to participate in drafting concerning the development of the IAEA’s administrative quality in terms of technical assistance and the secure transfer of nuclear resources.
The third item on the agenda was a visit to the Baker Institute in Tennessee. Ambassador Shaker spoke in the institute’s classrooms about non-proliferation in addition to being requested to deliver a speech concerning Egyptian foreign policy. The speech was attended by a large quantity of professors and scholarship recipients.
Ambassador Shaker also paid a visit to Oak Ridge Laboratory, one of the largest nuclear laboratories in the United States, in order to meet with various academics in in the institute for the purpose of cooperating with Egyptian scholars.
